Mark Kermode Live in 3D at the BFI (MK3D) is a monthly conversation between a live audience and one of the UK’s favourite and most respected film critics. With the help of surprise guests from the industry, Kermode explores, critiques and dissects movies past and present and reveals his or his guests’ cinematic guilty pleasures.

This November, as a teaser for the festival, one of his special guests on the show will be Irish Film London Patron and Academy Award-winning Irish director Lenny Abrahamson.

Lenny Abrahamson is one of Ireland’s leading directors, probably best known for his 2015 adaptation of Emma Donoghue’s Room, starring Brie Larson, which garnered him four Academy Award nominations. His previous films, Adam & Paul, Garage, What Richard Did and Frank have each been highly acclaimed, and between them have won over one hundred awards.

His latest film The Little Stranger, starring Domhnall Gleeson, Ruth Wilson and Charlotte Rampling, will be screened on Thursday 22nd November at the Regent Street Cinema, as part of the festival.

Mark Kermode is a film critic, presenter, writer, and musician. He is the chief critic for The Observer, contributes to Sight & Sound, co-presents the BBC Radio 5 Live show Kermode and Mayo's Film Review and previously co-presented the BBC Two arts programme The Culture Show. His twice weekly video blog, Kermode Uncut, appears on the BBC website, as well as on YouTube and Facebook.

A podcast of this event will be created and will be available to download.
