Sean McConville wins inaugural Irish Film London Fellowship to attend Stowe Story Labs
April 23, 2021
The winner of the first ever Irish Film London Fellowship has been announced, marking a milestone in Irish Film London’s first collaboration with Vermont based, international film development destination, Stowe Story Labs.
Sean McConville of London based Frenzy Films, was the successful candidate with his project The Last Moon. A logline from his winning script reads as follows:
On the night of a full moon a man who believes he was bitten by a werewolf invites his estranged brother to their remote family home to deceive him into shooting him with a silver bullet at midnight when he turns. The Last Moon is a Hitchcockian style suspense thriller in the vein of The Witch, The Babadook, and 10 Cloverfield Lane.
Speaking to Irish Film London and Stowe Story Labs on being selected, Sean said;
“I'm very grateful and thrilled to be a part of the Stowe Narrative Lab and to receive the fellowship and really look forward to it.”
Sean now joins a talented selection of filmmakers from all over the world in Stowe’s 2021 Narrative Lab, which this year takes place remotely. At the lab, The Last Moon will be put through its paces as Sean and the other alumni interrrogate story structure, character and theme as well as a lot more besides, over the course of four, intensive days with mentors who are top industry professionals.
The Irish Film London Fellowship covers Sean’s attendance fee at the event, and sits alongside other fellowship opportunities from the likes of Final Draft, SAGIndie, the International Screenwrriters’ Association and many others. IFL would like to congratulate Sean on this achievement.
You can follow Sean’s journey through the Narrative Lab in three ‘before, during and after’ vlog’s Sean is making for us. You’ll find them on IFL’s You Tube Channel .
