WRITING FOR THE SCREEN

What makes a good story? In this session, designed to provide insights to writers at all levels, we speak to successful Irish screenwriters who share how they use their craft to tell stories on screen.

Speakers to include Mark O'Halloran (actor and writer of Adam & Paul, Garage, Rialto) and writer/director duo Rachael Moriarty and Peter Murphy (Róise & Frank)

 

About the pannellists

Mark O’Halloran

Mark is an Irish scriptwriter and actor who shot to prominence as the writer of Lenny Abrahamson’s feature debut Adam & Paul (in which he also played Adam). Mark has now delivered episodes of The Virtues, Converstions with Friends and short film An Encounter which features in IFFL 2022

Rachael Moriarty and Peter Murphy

Writer/Director duo Rachael and Peter have found success with their previous films Traders as well as short film The Family Tree. Their latest film Róise & Frank is the latest Irish language film to reach our screens and closes Irish Film Festival London 2022.
