Black and Irish: A Live Discussion

What do the black and Irish communities in London have in common? What are the experiences of people of colour in Ireland? What about mixed race Irish people? IFL presents this special online discussion to celebrate what our communities have in common. Free for everyone to attend online.

To celebrate Black History Month and with support from Southwark Council, Irish Film London are presenting a special discussion event, free to attend on Facebook Live and open to all, to explore the experiences of Black people both here in London and at home in Ireland.

Presented in partnership with I Am Irish, and hosted by award winning cultural producer and activist Chardine Taylor Stone, the event will feature guest speakers such as Lorraine Maher of I Am Irish, as well as Richie and Taurayne from Eyerish and Jamaican. Using a range of film clips from archives and contemporary sources as talking points, attendees can expect a wide ranging conversation demonstrating what these communities share and what we have in common.
