The additional fellowship benefits include:

  • a 30-minute consultation with entertainment attorney Stacey Davis (a Stowe Story Labs Alum, Fellowship Sponsor, and Board Member)

  • StoryBoard Quick software from Power Production

  • a free copy of the newest version of Final Draft

This is an over $4,000 (£3,000) value! Learn more about their fellowships here.

Sean McConville was the selected filmmaker who benefitted from the IFL Fellowship to attend Stowe Story Labs in 2021, his project The Last Moon went on to feature at the European Genre Forum, Frontières Co-Production Market, Film London’s Production Finance Market and was presented at Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival’s industry programme.

At the Narrative Lab, participants focus on skill development and elements such as story structure, character, and theme; conversation about story; packaging; elements of creative production; casting; adaptation; and finance and distribution.

Participants will have direct access to working industry professionals top in their fields; opportunities to build knowledge, skills, and insights to navigate the film industry; a network of talented peers, vital in this collaborative art and business; peer-to-peer script note sessions; workshops; roundtables; and social time—all in a beautiful setting to develop your craft.

Head of IFL, Gerry Maguire, said, "Working with the Stowe team allows us at IFL to meet one of our key industry goals: to promote new Irish filmmaking talent to a global audience. By offering a fellowship at Stowe Story Labs, we are able to help an excellent Irish filmmaker advance to the next stage of their career with high level support.” He continued, “Stowe participants are always of an incredibly high calibre and the training they receive is designed to offer the most value to those at a certain level in their career. Having attended as a mentor in 2021, I can personally attest to the quality of the experience and would recommend it to writers, directors, and producers wherever they are."

David Rocchio, Stowe’s Founder and Director, said, “The Irish film and television industry has brought so much to our understanding of the world and exploration of the human condition. We are pleased to continue working with IFL, discovering talented screenwriters and filmmakers looking to reach people and bend the world through story.”

We are proud to connect our writers with the team at Stowe. The work they do is valuable and important to this industry. We encourage you to apply.
